A personalized Model 1934 - Reichsarbeitsdiens Hauer für Mannschaften und Unterführer by Gottlieb Hammesfahr of Solingen. The matte finished blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Arbeit adelt” motto and “RADJ Ges. Gesch. Gottlieb Hammesfahr” maker mark are both beautifully executed! The fit is perfect, and so is the tip! It rates an Exc+/Exc++. It shows the typical surface scratches, runner rest marks, age grey and spotting throughout. The steel based, dent-free black enamel painted scabbard is looks great. It retains 90%+ paint coverage.The nickel-silver fittings provide wonderful detail, throughout the RAD logo's and decorative burnished interweaving top patterns Three screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The tombac based, nickel-silver plated hilt is also in excellent condition, matching the scabbard perfectly! The stag horn grip plates have wonderfully aged, providing wonderful contrasting beige/brown colors that only time can create! There are no cracks of chips and they remain tightly secured by two steel screws. Included is the original hanger, marked; “Otto Sindel Berlin 1936”, “RADJ” and “Ges. Gesch.”. The back of the hanger is ink marked, "Hoshstrate". Perhaps an opportunity to research? Nice complete rig by a rare maker.
