Here's a recent example from the Vet's family and when you buy stuff from families they do not always take care of them the way we do. Well this one suffered as it looks like the kids played "Swords" with it! The plated blade on this piece has nicks to the cutting edge and has been sharpened and repointed. It has an etched early large Tiger Solingen, marker mark. The scabbard leather is pretty good there are the normal small hits and scrapes but no bare areas showing the steel base. The nickel plated steel scabbard fittings shows losts of patina matching the hilt. All of the screws remain intact. The grip looks good with nice leather coverage, with scuffs. The triple nickel wire wrap remains but some is loose and part of one wire missing. The nickle based pommel has lost the reverse insert.
