An Early Model 1933 NSKK Dagger (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch) by Adolf Völker of Schmalkalden. The blade on this one is beautiful! The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Adolf Völker Schmalkalden” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! Wait a minute!! look again at the maker mark. For you guys who know, this is the rare variant. most of these come with the train logo! Who knew!! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates a solid Mint-. It shows just minor age. The dent-free steel based, black anodized scabbard has wear and surface pitting. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent! The nickle throat is shiny. Not sure what the deal is there, maybe someone adjusted it or just shined it up. It fits perfect. The ball is perfect. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! Nice matching patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Sa” (Sachsen). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent! It shows some pressure marks throughout but no chips or cracks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has nice patina, a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. the hilt appears to never have been apart. An interesting example!
