Early Tigerstripe SA Dagger

A nice piece here recently obtained from a large collection. The blade on this one is bright with spotting and age, it has been cleaned at some point however some traces of crossgrain remain. The fits are nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and Justinuswerk maker mark are both beautifully executed but lightened from cleaning. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. The brown anodized scabbard is very nice with 75% of it's factory lacquer while remaining dent free! There is some evidence of wear. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in good shape. The ball has a small hit to the bottom. You will have to go looking to find it. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are in fine shape, again showing some evidence of cleaning. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gruppe stamped, "BO" Bayerische Ostmark (always in capital letters). The grip / crossguard fits are good. The multi-toned hardwood grip has a wonderful tiger-stripe to the grain. No cracks or chips but does suffer a couple tiny flakes and the common pressure marks that result from honest wear. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 95% of its' enamel. Overall this is a nice solid example.
