Early SS Dagger by Bertram Reinh

A Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by C. Bertram Reinh. Sohn of Solingen. A rare and desired maker on this one! The blade on this one has been cleaned. There is evidence of stain and sime pitting in the spots. The acid etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" motto and crisp "C. Bertram Reinh. Sohn Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed and provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade! The fit is perfect but all the crossgrain is polished out. The blade rates Exc. The scabbard body is steel based and black anodized. It shows a nice finish with say 20% of the lacquer remaining. There is a small impression to the lower obverse 1" north of the lower fitting. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look good. The ball is near perfect and all screws remain intact. The scabbard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look excellent, matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamped "I" (Munich). The black died hardwood grip is in excellent condition and way better than most SS daggers I've seen! It has pressure marks throughout, but that's it, no cracks or chips!! The grip to crossguard fits are perfect. The solid nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a near perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A solid SS dagger, by a rarer maker, that is fit for your collection!
