The 13 inch blade is a triple etched type. It is in Exc++ condition having good frosting intact with some age. All the plating is intact. The fine etching depicting bores, stags, dogs, birds and hunters all in hunting settings. The green felt buffer pad remains intact. The hilt is a finely cast example with good detail in alloy with excellent gilt. The chip-free grip plates are produced in celluloid with wee lines that resemble ivory. These plates are further decorated with very fine acorn nuts and leaves. The "D" guard begins with a detailed hoof, and after passing through the crossguard ending in a 2nd hoof. The clamshell is the fluted type. The scabbard has an excellent black leather shell, showing no age. The gilded fittings show lift period wear and have scalloped edge where they meet the shell. The lower hand-decorated with dual scribed lines. The upper fitting has the standard acorn lug with a small impression.
