A 1. Stufe Nahkampfspange in Bronze by Friedrich Linden of Lüdenscheid. The Bronze I Stage Close Combat Clasp was awarded for 15 close combat battles. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed and brennlack finished. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a German national eagle. The reverse of the badge correctly displays; a crimped on round wire catch, a crimped on nail head hinge-pin block hinge and coke bottle pin with a crimped on steel backplate. It is also designer and maker marked; “Fec. W. E. Peekhause Berlin” and “FLL.”. The badge depicts beautiful details throughout! It measures 3 7/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall. Nice!
