Wehrmacht Dienstauszeichnung 4. Klasse für 4-jährige Dienstzeit. The 4 Year Wehrmacht Long Service (4th Class) was awarded for 4 years of good standing military service. This award is constructed out of a die stamped steel base that has been silver plated. The round shaped obverse depicts a national closed winged Heer eagle, clutching a swastika in its talons, below: “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (Faithful Service in the Wehrmacht). The reverse depicts a stylized “4” encircled by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. To the top of the medal is a soldered loop and ring which fastens the award to the parade mount. The parade mount is steel base and covered in a folded blue cornflower rayon ribbon and black felt backing. There is a pinned-on steel silvered Heer eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons just above the award. The reverse has a well working pin assemble. The silver wash has nicely aged. A nicely detailed example on a parade mount!
