Post-war production Hunting Cutlass, by Hubertus, (Formally know as Kuno Ritter). The fittings are all plated mounts. The fittings all have light wear to the high areas. The quality etched and plated cutlass blade overall measures almost 280mm. The pommel is made from a war-time Army dagger casting. Nice details here to the quillion acorns and the fluted clam-shell. An nice piece of horn was chosen to compliment this weapon. The scabbard shell is a fine example having a base covered with fine grained green leather with a few small pressure marks but 100% leather coverage. The etched blade is a beauty example. The etches are run on a usual horizontal featuring a deer family in white with gilt backgrounds. This blade is in choice condition with just a few dots of age and rates easily in at Exc++. On the reverse riccasso is the logo of this firm etched in the center above made in Germany. The original felt buffer is in place, finally nicely finishing this is a green leather frog.
