A M1929 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by Eickhorn. The plain double fullered blade on this one looks good. It has some graying and age. The stamped double oval maker mark is lightly executed! Look just above this and you will see an inspection stamp, ( the stick-bird over an M). The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates Exc+. The tan buffer pad remains intact. The lightning bolt style scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. Most of the guilding is worn on there remains a deep rich patina. It depicts nice details especially with the "reef knot" style bands. It has wear and the tip has been dented in. This in no way affects the insertion of the blade. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. peek at the throat and you will see a hand stamped inspection mark matching the blade. This style is a friction fit and there is no release button. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded matching the wear and patina of the scabbard. The fouled anchors to the crossguard and hand-enhanced pommel are beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid. It continues to remain in great shape with the odd rub mark but no cracks, chips or splits! The brass double twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact! A nice dagger with a "welded-on" golden bullion knot that has been there forever.
