A Model 1937 - Reichsfinanzverwaltung Dolch für Landzoll-Beamte by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The bright blade on this one is in fine condition sporting a stamped Eickhorn mid period maker mark! Which BTW is quite correct for this dagger. The blade rates Exc++ with just some minor age. The undented scabbard has bands with the correct chased line approximately 5mm in from the front scabbard fitting edges. The polished fittings are all secured with headless screws. The throat is integral to the upper fitting as we see on 95% of these. The leather on the scabbard has excellent coverage and remains in beautiful condition! There are a few very small marks that reveal this was worn and some scrapes. This dagger also employs the textbook aluminum hilt fittings with upswept enhanced Customs eagle wings. The unique Customs pommel with acanthus leaves is matching in tone, wear and patina. The leathered grip is in good shape and correctly wire wrapped with springy twisted wire. The unique Customs ferule again has the correct leaf pattern. A nice addition!
