This bayonet was designed to fit the 1895 Mauser Infantry Rifle. It was manufactured in Germany under contract. The 10 inch long, single fuller straight blade on this one looks great. It is marked to the reverse “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen”. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates NM. It shows minor age and some common surface scratches throughout. The steel based and black anodized scabbard looks has minor wear and a few wee hits. It retains a nice and dark finish. The throat retaining rivets remain intact. The hilt is nickel-silver plated. The button continues to work well. The wood grip plates show the common pressure marks. They continue to be tightly secured by two rivets.
