Long Fireman's Bayonet by Eickhorn/ L&E
Interesting distributor marked Feuerschutzpolizei EM/NCO bayonet with frog. The 25cm plated blade on this one is very nice. The stamped "Eickhorn Solingen" 1935-41 mark is beautifully executed. To the obverse is the L&E distributor stamp. L&E was an exclusive distributor to the Fire Protection agency. Interestingly they are the only distributor mark I know of with the NSDAP symbol in the center. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is in good condition! It remains completely dent free and but retains only 35%+ of its original crazed paint! The nickel plated hilt is in excellent condition, with 99% plating still intact! This piece also has two perfect diamond grip plates that are nicely fit without any damage and are secured by 2 untouched steel rivets. No cracks or chips anywhere. Included is a maker marked frog that is personalized to the top reverse, "B.S. NAN".
