Imperial KS98 Dress Bayonet
An Imperial Extraseitengewehr by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The fullered 255mm plated blade on this one is very clean. The stamped back-to-back squirrel “CE” maker mark is nicely executed. The fit is nice and tight. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based painted scabbard looks good with 95% of it's original paint remaining. It is dent-free. The original throat retaining screw and frog lug remain intact. The ball remains perfectly round. The steel based hilt shows not plating. The black checkered wood grip plates are soiled but undamaged. They are tightly secured to the hilt with two steel rivets. The push button continues to work well!
