This might be my favorite pattern sword simply because I highly value hand work and these Rune swords were engraved as opposed to being cast. The plated blade rates Mint- being bright and clean with absolutely no reason to make excuses. The blade is stamped with the correct mid-period Eickhorn maker mark and retains it's factory buffer. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 80. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent-free. It has good original paint with some wear towards the drag that I have shown you the worse of. The paint is better than 90%. This is a brass based example with some wear to the high areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang. Look at the wee acorns and oak leaves that are all hand punched. The grip is black celluloid and has a crack to the top obverse. It is wrapped with triple brass wire that is not perfect but all there.
