IJA Japanese Type 32 Army Sword

A nice IJA Japanese Type 32 (B) Army Sword! The slightly curved, 30 ½ inch long single fullered machined blade on this one looks has age and is sharp. It is serial numbered to the ricasso "25554". It has a perfect fit and solid tip. It rates Exc with some black pitting. The original leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is brass (interior) and anodized steel (exterior) based. Most of the scabbard finish is worn away with small hits and dents from wear and some spotting. It has a single hanger ring, locking mechanism to the throat and a drag that is marked but illegible, I do not think this is matching. The scabbard is tightly secured to the hilt with the push button locking mechanism. The hilt is constructed out of an anodized steel base with a wood grip that is tightly secured with a screw. The grip and back strap are both cross hatched to allow for a better grip. The finger guard is missing. The top of the guard has a hole for a knot. A great piece you will be happy with!
