A model 1933 NSKK Dagger (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch) by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The entire acid etched "In herzlicher kameradschaft Ernst Rohm" motto is completely factory ground. The "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Carl Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark are all clear and crisp. The blade has minor age. The fit and tip are both perfect. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. The steel based, black period repainted, (in 1936 when NSKK guys were ordered to change the color) scabbard is looks great! It has the minor surface scratches and wee hits and still holds a nice finish. The scabbard fittings look great. The lower is steel based so must have been replaced at some point. The ball remains round and undamaged. All four screws continue to remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The guards will be internally marked "EW' if you care to look, I can tell just looking at the shape. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped 'Wf", quite correct. The hand chased solid nickel crossguards match the scabbard fittings in condition, color and age patina. Peek under the lower fitting and you can see it's benchmarked "8", not necessary but guys like to see this. The brown grained hardwood grip is in excellent shape! It has the odd rub mark and small hits but that's it! No cracks, chips or splits. The solid nickel eagle has excellent detail and a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 100% of its enamel but has darkened with time. Included is a short hanger with nickel buckle and steel clip. Nice dagger with a great sense of history.
