A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen. The blade on this one is excellent! The acid etched Knights Head “WKC Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light, all the way from the hilt to the tip! The fit is nice and tight! The blade rates an Mint-. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The scabbard remains dent free. The original side throat retaining screw remains intact. Look again at the edges. See the white areas? That's factory lacquer, rare to find and absolutely beautiful. The nickel silver plated crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. No it's not the std tomahawk crossguard but a generic example WKC did employ for time to time. Oh, BTW know who made the std generic crossguard? WKC. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. All matching hand enhanced fittings! The orange trylon grip is perfect. No cracks or chips. Nice color contrast with all matching patina. A great example!
