A Saar - Reichsverband Deutscher Rundfunkteilnehmer e. V. abzeichen by Redo of Saarland. The RDR (1930-1936) was NSDAP radio broadcast interest group headed by Joseph Goebels. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been silver washed and contains red, white and black enamel work behind a lacquer coating. The round shaped obverse depicts a black lightning bolt above three horizontal lines an a white backing, encircled by: “Verband Deutscher Rundfunkteilnehmer a.d. Saar e.v.” on a red translucent pebbled backing. The slightly concave reverse is marked: “Redo Saarland Ges. Gesch.” and features a soldered-on round plate marked “Ges. Gesch.” that holds a well working pin assembly. The enamel work shows some pencil/scratch marks. It measures 15/16 of an inch in diameter. A rare early piece!
