A Rare - Early Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by F. von Brosy of Solingen. This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity ratting! The blade on this one is in nice condition! The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “F. Von Brosy-Steinberg Solingenmaker” maker mark are both crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates NM. There is some age spotting throughout and it has been lightly cleaned. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks excellent. It shows one minor area of oxidization spotting. It remains dent free and retains 90% of its original factory lacquer! The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings look excellent matching the crossguards in color and patina! They show minor evidence of a light clean. The ball retains a nice round shape and all four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse right side of the lower crossguard is marked “Ho” (Hochland). The brown hardwood grip is one of the best I’ve seen! It almost has that tiger stripe that is so desired by collectors! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A real treat when these rare ones come around!
