Personalized - Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen RZM 941/36/SS. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto, double oval “C.E. Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark and “RZM 941/36/SS” contract code are all dark, crisp and beautifully executed! They truly provide a wonderful contrast to the bright minty blade! The full crossgrain is stunning as you shine it in the light! The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. There is a small hand etched in “FLZ” just above the obverse ricasso. The blade rates Exc++/NM. There are slight traces of spotting and age grey throughout along with the typical surface scratches. The exterior of this thing looks features a wonderful aged patina that is often sought after among collectors. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks excellent. It remains completely dent free and retains a gorgeous factory lacquered finish. The scalloped nickel-silver based scabbard fittings are in wonderful condition. They are tightly secured with all four screws. The ball is perfectly round. The top of the scabbard throat reads: “Fred Ziegler”. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect! The solid nickel-silver crossguards matching the scabbard fittings perfectly in color and patina. The underside of the crossguard is also personalized reading: “Fred Ziegler” and “Ziegler”. The black hardwood grip has been repaired to the top around the roundel. It shows the typical pressure marks, hairline cracks and flakes. The solid nickel-silver eagle is nicely detailed, patinaed again and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A wonderful and unique piece that is sure to please!
