A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Klittermann & Moog G.m.b.H. of Haan. The ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “RZM M7/29 1940” ricasso and Klittermann & Moog” single oval maker mark are both nicely executed. The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc++. It shows age some age grey along with surface scratches throughout. The original black leather buffer remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It shows evidence of a period re-paint. 99%+ paint coverage remains intact. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in excellent condition. It has all of its rivets intact and the large snap continues to work well. The alloy nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95% of its plating. The grip plates are damage-free black checkered bakelite. Both steel rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond has 99%+ of its enamel. A good transitional Hitler Youth Knife!
