Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Rich. Abr Herder. The early thin mottoed blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto has been 98% cleaned off. The stamped "Rich. Abr Herder Solingen" / "Ges. Geschützt" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and it continues to hold a nice and tight fit! The blade rates an Exc+. It has been used and cleaned but not sharpened, it shows common surface scratches / spotting throughout. The original leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent! It continues to hold 98%+ of its original paint coverage. The brown scabbard leather remains in nice condition! It is a bit stiff. All of rivets are intact and the button continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 99%+ of its plating. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape! Both nickel-silver rivets remain intact tightly securing the hilt. The HJ diamond retains 100%+ of its enamel. A nice example by a rare maker!
