A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade looks great. The acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” squirrel maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is stunning as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates Exc++/NM. It has some age grey and spotting throughout. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and airplane gray finished. It has some oxidization spotting throughout, yet remains completely dent free. It depicts nice detail with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The aluminum based crossguard looks great with nicely detailed burnished backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side hand enhanced oak leaves and acorns are all beautiful. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent as well. The gold gilded swastika is a real treat on this one! 95%+ of the gilding remains intact. The trylon grip is in excellent condition. There is a wee chip to the reverse top. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. Textbook configuration Eickhorn Luftwaffe Dagger.
