A Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen Sonderstufe für 50 Jahre. The special stage Faithful Service Cross was awarded for 50 years of loyal service to workers and employees of the private sector (as opposed to the public service). It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and gold gilded and contains black enamel work. The obverse features a pebbled pattée style cross that has a “50” to the top arm, a gold oak leaf wreath visible through the corners and a centrally placed black static swastika / “Fur Treue Urbeit” (For Faithful Work) to the reverse. To the top is a soldered loop and ring which holds approximately 3 1/2 inches of folded blue rayon ribbon and a stitched on well working brass based gilded pin assembly. The award measures 1 5/8 inches wide and tall. The gold gilt wonderfully shines in the light and the enamel work is 99%+! The silvering has nicely patinaed with time. A very RARE award…
