A Rare & Desirable, Exclamation Mark “!” - Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by RZM M7/29 - Jacobs & Co. of Solingen. There is talk about these unique motted pieces being specially presented or attributed to an elite SS unit. However, there is no documentation that supports this, it is only speculation. The blade on this one looks wonderful! The special acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue!” motto and “RZM M7/29” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! They truly provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade. The full crossgrain is stunning as you shine it in the light. The blade is perfectly seated up against the hilt. The blade rates NM. The tip has a slight mark to it yet it remains the full 220mm long. It shows the common runner marks and age spotting throughout. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It continues to hold 80% paint coverage and remain completely dent free. The nickel-silver fittings look good. The ball has a split. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The nickel-silver crossguards look excellent. The black died hardwood grip is in wonderful condition. There are a few bumps and pressure marks throughout. The solid nickel-silver eagle is nicely detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. This one comes with a unique period vertical hanger.
