Hitler Youth Leader Sports Badge and Miniature

A Führer-Sportabzeichen der Hitlerjugend mit Miniatur by RZM M1/101 - Gustav Brehmer of Markneukirchen. On January 18, 1937, Reichsjugendführer Balder von Schirach, decreed that all HJ and DJ leaders would be required to pass a ten-part test to be known as the leader’s test exercise. It is a two-piece construction made out of die struck tombak that has been gold fire gilded (with polished highlights) and contains black enamel work and is finished in a lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a Tyr-rune, with a swastika to the center and an inscription around it reading: “Fur Leistungen In Der H.J.” (For proficiency in the H.J), which is all above a black background and a golden laurel leaf wreath. The full back reverse is stamped “B” and embossed “RZM M1/101”. It has the correct pin, hinge and catch assembly. They are all in well working condition. The badge shows beautiful detail and guiling. It really shines as you move it in the light! It measures 2 inches tall by 1 ½ inches wide. It is accompanied with the miniature which is rarer than the full size. The miniature measures 13/16 of an inch tall by 5/8 of an inch wide. A great assembly!
