Postwar - Russian WWI Air Force Observer Badge
A modern reproduction of an Imperial Russian Air Service Observer’s Badge. It is constructed out of a multi-piece cast sterling silver base that has been chemically burnished. The obverse features a crowned, winged imperial monogram of Tsar Nicholas II above two crossed broad sword and a downward point telescope, all above a half oak leaf and acorn half laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom with a ribbon. The hollow back reverse features a male screw device and a circular disk. The threading is slightly off. It measures 1 7/8 wide by 1 ½ inches tall. Russian had the largest Airforce during WWI.
