A J2 - Luftwaffe Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger in Bronze by C. E. Juncker of Berlin. The Bomber Clasp, Kampf und Sturzkampfflieger (Heavy, Medium and Dive-Bomber) in Bronze was instituted January 30, 1941, and was awarded for twenty combat missions. It is constructed out of two pieces of die struck bronze / die stamped nickel-silver that has been bronze washed / chemically blackened and covered in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a centrally placed blackened downward pointing “winged-bomb” that is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom with a stagnant swastika and is flanked by four round cut outs and two nine-piece oak leaf clusters. The semi-full back reverse shows a recessed lathed portion with a center rivet, a soldered on catch (repaired replacement), soldered on tombak barrel hinge and sturdy nickel-silver tapered pin. It displays wonderful detail throughout! It measures 3 inches wide by 1 inch tall.
I think this one could pass for a Gold Grade here is a Bronze Grade.
