A 3. Klasse Spanien-Kreuz in Bronze (ohne Schwerter) by Wilhelm Deumer of Lüdenscheid. The Bronze Spanish Cross without Swords was awarded non-combatants for three months of service in Spain. It is a multi-piece construction made out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed, burnished and finished in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a convex pebbled Maltese style cross with four Luftwaffe eagles to each corner, that has an encircled (separately soldered on) mobile swastika to the center. The full back reverse has a soldered-on flatwire catch, a soldered-on block hinge and flat pin. Minor oxidization around the solder marks. It measures 2 1/4 inches wide and tall. A great piece!
