Kaiserliche Marine S.M.S. Luetzow Mützenband. The SMS Lützow (Derfflinger-class battlecruiser) was launched on November 29, 1913 and was scuttled after the Battle of Jutland Jun 1, 1916. It is constructed out of a black satin/rayon base with machine stitched silver thread. The obverse reads, in silver: “S.M.S. Luetzow” on a black base. The top and bottom have chain-like re-enforce stitching. It measures 40 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. Read more: SMS Lützow.
