Kaiserliche Marine S.M.S. Pommern Mützenband. The SMS Pommern (Deutschland-class pre-dreadnought battleships) was launched on December 2, 1905, and was sunk by British destroyers at the Battle of Jutland on June 1, 1916. It is constructed out of a black satin/rayon base with gold-colored machine stitched thread. The obverse reads, in gold: “S.M.S. Pommern” on a black base. The top and bottom have chain-like re-enforce stitching. It measures 39 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. Read more about the: SMS Pommern.
