A Beautiful - Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Neidhardt & Schmidt of Brotterode. The blade on this one is lookswonderful. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto is beautifully executed and the “Neidhardt & Schmidt Brotterode” maker mark has textbook features. The crossgrain is wonderful and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates NM/Mint-. It shows typical runner marks. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks wonderful. It has a nice finish and remains dent free. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed. The ball retains a nice round profile. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Fr” (Franken). The brown lacquered hardwood grip looks excellent. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A wonderful example!
