A Luftwaffen Frontflugspange Für Aufklärer, Seenotflieger-Verbände und Wetter-Erkundungs Staffeln in Silver by Brüder Schneider A.G. of Wien. Instituted January 30, 1941, the Clasp for Reconnaissance, Air/Sea Rescue and Meteorological Squadrons in silver was awarded for specialized squadrons upon the completion of sixty combat missions. It is constructed out of a two-piece die struck/stamped nickel-silver base that has been silver washed, chemically blackened and finished in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse features a centrally placed eagle head surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that with a static swastika to the base, which is all flanked by four triangular cut outs and two nine-piece oak leaf clusters. The full back reverse is maker marked: “BSW” (in a downward pointing three leaf clover) and features the appropriate; rivet, soldered-on block hinge, soldered-on rectangular plate round wire catch and coke bottle pin. All of the components continue to work well. The clasp measures 3 inches wide by 1 inch tall. A rarer maker.
