Luftwaffen Schwert mit Hänger by SMF - Solinger Metallwarenfabrik Stoecker & Co. of Solingen. The plated blade is a double edged, fullered and 30 1/8 inches long. The reverse is nicely maker marked with a seated king above “SMF Solingen”. The blade rates EXC+. It has several nicks to the edges and typical surface scratches. The original white leather buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard is wood based and covered in a blue grained leatherette. It has a nice seam to the edge and retains 97% coverage. Typical hits and scratches. The two solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings look good. Both held with two screws. Nice matching patina. The lower fitting has some bumps. The solid nickel-silver crossguard looks very nice, with burnished arms and separately inserted brass sun wheel swastikas. The wood based blue leatherette covered dual wire wrapped grip is in very nice condition. The large screw in pommel top has great etching to the edges and the sun wheel swastikas look good. This one comes complete with the proper hanger. A great example.
