Extra-Seitengewehr KS98 mit Seitengewehrtasche. The Beauty etched blade on this unmarked example great condition! It has a nice mirror finish to it along with a perfect tip and solid fit! The "Erinnerung an den Weltkrieg" is a dedication someone would get on retirement. Basically saying, In Memory of your war service. To the reverse is a nice motif centered on an Imperial Iron Cross. These are unmarked and usually attributed to Paul Weyersberg, Solingen. The blade rates a solid NM only suffering small age marks and in/out marks. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The black enamel painted scabbard retains 99% of its original paint with some spidering and minor wear to the ball. It remains completely dent free. The original throat retaining screw remains intact. The black painted steel hilt retains 99% of its plating. The two glass eyes remain intact to the eagle head. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are tightly fit and secured with two steel rivets. They are in near perfect condition with no cracks or chips anywhere. The grip also displays Kaiser Wilhelm II’s brass royal cypher. The porteppe and crazed frog remain intact. A solid piece at a great price!
