Summer Tunic - Army Officers Breast Eagle

Wehrmacht-Heer Sommer-Hoheitsabzeichen für Offiziere by Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid. It is constructed out of a die stamped nickel-silver base that has been silver washed with polished highlights and covered in a laquer coating. The obverse depicts a Heer eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons. The hollow back reverse shows a crimped-on round wire catch, crimped-on sheet metal hinge, a nickel-silver round wire pin and a soldered-on flatwire keeper. It measures 3 3/4 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches tall.
