A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/8 - Eduard Gembruch of Solingen-Grafrath. Based on construction this piece can be dated to c.1936/early-1937. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto and the stamped “RZM M7/8” maker mark are both beautifully executed! The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a nice point. Nice crossgrain remains. The blade rates a solid Exc++. It has been heavily cleaned leaving dimpling throughout. The buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard is steel based and black anodized. It shows some spidering throughout yet retains traces of its factory lacquer and remains dent free. The blackened scabbard leather is in great condition. All of its rivets are intact and the maker marked snap continues to work well. The iron based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 97% of its plating. It shows evidence of being cleaned as well. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect condition and are tightly secured to the hilt with two solid nickel-silver rivets. The small HJ diamond retains 99% of its enamel.
