German, WWII – Three-Piece Medal Bar, Assembled sometime around late-1942/early -943, this medal bar would have been awarded to a member of the Wehrmacht who bravely fought in the face of the enemy, served on the Eastern Front (sometime during November 15, 1941, to April 15, 1942) and participated in the occupation of Sudetenland (October 1938) and Czechoslovakia (March 1939). Front left to right:

  • Iron Cross 2nd Class by F. Orth of Wein (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, instituted September 1, 1939)
  • Easter Front Medal (Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten, instituted May 26, 1942)
  • Sudetenland Commemorative Medal (Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938, instituted October 1, 1938)
The bar consists of a stamped sheet metal base, that is covered to the front with each medal’s appropriate rayon ribbon and to the back. The reverse shows the appropriate steel pin, hinge and catch assembly that remains in well working condition. It measures 4 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall. A great piece!
