German WWI/Weimar/WWII - Police Five-Piece Medal Bar

German Empire (Austro-Hungarian Empire), Imperial Great War, Weimar Republic – Freikorps, Third Reich – Police. Assembled, sometime around 1938, for a Hungarian/German member who served in WWI, served in the Freikorps defending their home soil in the Silesian Uprising, gave services during the 1936 Olympic games and gave 18 years of loyal service in the police forces. From left to right:

  • Cross of Honor for War Participants without Swords by CEJ (Ehrenkreuz für Kriegsteilnehmer – ohne Schwerter, instituted July 13, 1934)
  • Silesian Probationary Badge 2nd Class (II. Stufe Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen, instituted June 16, 1919)
  • Police 18 Year Long Service Cross (18-jährige 2. Stufe. Polizei-Dienstauszeichnung, instituted January 30, 1938)
  • Olympic Memorial Medal 1936 (Olympia-Erinnerungsmedaille 1936, instituted July 31, 1936)
  • Hungarian Commemorative Medal 1914-1918 for Combatants (Ungarn – Weltkriegs-Erinnerungsmedaille für Frontkämpfer 1914-18, instituted May 26, 1929)
The bar consists of a stamped alloy base, that is covered to the front with each medal’s appropriate rayon ribbon (and specific police insignia) and to the back with a black wool, assembled with black stitching. The reverse also shows the appropriate tombak pin, covered hinge and catch assembly that remains in well working condition. It measures 5 3/4 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall. A re-mount.
