Stahlhelmbund Service Entry and Traditions Badge 1924

Diensteintritts-und Traditionsabzeichen Stahlhelmbund 1924. Instituted November 13, 1933, by Franz Seldte leader of the Stahlhelmbund, to mark the organizations 15th anniversary. It is constructed out of a die struck alpaca base that has been silver washed and contains black enamel work that has been covered in lacquer coating. The round shaped obverse features a silvered M16 style helmet, that is marked, in black, with an Iron Cross and “Der Stahlhelm” in Gothic style script. The helmet is above two silvered crossed oak leaves and “1924”, which all lies on a black base which is surrounded by a thin silver border. The reverse is embossed with: “STH”, “Ges. Gesch.” and “A” (Alpaka), along with (etched): “V Th. 1349” (Military Unit - 94th (5th Thuringian) Infantry "Grand Duke of Saxony") and “7.3.24.” (Entry Date - March 7, 1924). The reverse also features; a soldered-on round plate round wire catch, soldered-on pad-foot sheet metal hinge and coke bottle pin. The enamel work is in beautiful condition 98%+ and the silvering looks excellent! It measures 1 3/16 inches in diameter.
