Gedenkblatt des Reichsarbeitsdienst. Awarded to honor the member’s service. The Hans M. Friedmann water color scene features: an industrial city in the background with smoke billowing out of the stacks, many shirtless men working in a field, wielding shovels, pick axes or farming, with a RAD man in full uniform watching over everything, holing a shovel in his hands, in front of a RAD flag. To the top left it reads, in black Gothic style script: “Gedenkblatt des Reichsarbeitsdienst Paul Hoyer hat vom 1.4.35 bis 30.9.35 seiner Arbeitsdienstpflight genügh Reichsarbeitsführer ofm. Abteilungsführer” The names and dated are added. It is also stamped with the group stamp: “Abtetiung 7/164”. The bottom left features the artists name and location “Hans Friedmann, München” the bottom right reads: “Wilhelm Bergmann, Berlin-Neukölln Bergstr. 93/95”. One 1-inch tear to the left side, minor crevasse, the two right side corners show minor damage and minor soilage throughout. Beautiful color. It measures 12 7/8 inches wide by 17 3/8 inches tall. It will ship in a tube. A great RAD piece!
