United States, WWII – U.S. Navy Mark 1 Combat Knife manufactured by the PAL Cutlery/Blade Company of New York. The 5-inch, singed edged, bowie style blade on this one looks good. It is marked: “RH” (Remington Hunting), “PAL Made in USA” (PAL Cutlery Company) “35” (Remington Hunting Knife Pattern #3 | 5-inch blade) and model marked: “U.S.N. Mark 1”. The parkerized finish has been cleaned off, which is very typical. The three-piece tanned brown leather scabbard is in excellent shape. All of its stitching and rivets remain intact. The snap remains working well and its strap remains in excellent condition. Minor impressions and stain spots throughout. The hilt is made out of a cast iron crossguard (slightest side to side wiggle), a leather washer grip with red, yellow and black spacers ending peened-on parkerized aluminum pommel top. A very nice piece.
