Italy, WWII - Fascist Repubblica Sociale Modello 1936 Italiana Regia Marina Pugnale da Incursori. In 1936, this dagger was supplied to the special commando units of the Royal Navy / San Marco Marines. The blade is identical to the M35 dagger for “Musketeers of the Duce”. The blade is double edged, 8 inch long and has a spear point. It shows age grey, spotting and heavy surface scratches throughout. It looks as though someone attempted to put a saw-back on it. The blade ridges butt against a surrounded oval brass guard. The steel scabbard is black painted. It remains dent free and holds 95% paint coverage. Typical scratches throughout. The reverse swivel sheet metal hanger is soldered in place and works well. The throat is steel based. The hit is constructed out of a single piece of molded black bakelite. There are four finger grooves and a fasces to each side. It shows hits, scratches and cracks throughout. This is an extremely rare piece!
