United States, WWI - M1917 33rd Infantry Division Doughboy Helmet by HS - Hadfields Steel. The 33rd Division was activated in July of 1917, and went overseas in May of 1918. The division fought at Le Hamel, Meuse-Argonne Offensive, Somme Offensive, and St. Mihiel. Textured original paint. The 33rd Infantry Division insignia is painted on the front. It is void of the gold color. There is a rivet to the top and two side rivets. Re-enforced rim. Minor bend. The interior is marked: “HS 377” and painted: “CO. D.”. The liner features a black oilcloth band and net configuration with leather strap. I cannot see a size marking and the one rivet is replaced with a wire. The chinstrap is leather with a steel buckle.
