A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Carl Wüsthof, Gladiatorwerk, of Solingen. The blade on this one is gorgeous! The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “Carl Wüsthof Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is absolutely stunning and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates a NM-. There is the slightest spotting along with scratches and runner marks throughout. The sheet metal based brown anodized scabbard is in wonderful condition. It retains 97% of its original factory lacquer. It has one wee bump to the obverse-top area. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings are in wonderful shape. The ball is perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in wonderful shape as well, matching the scabbard fittings in color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “S” (Schlesien). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. It shows the typical bumps, scratches and bruises and a wee flake chip towards to obverse-top. It has perfect fits. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a good fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A beautiful piece.
