A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by AES RZM M7/85 (Arthur Evertz of solingen). Based on construction and other examples by this maker this piece can be dated to 1939. The ricassoed blade on this one looks wonderful! The stamped “AES RZM M7/85” maker mark is beautifully executed. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an easy NM/Mint-. It has the common surface scratches and the slightest age spotting throughout. The original blackened leather buffer pad remions intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks wonderful. It retains 99% paint coverage and remains completely dent free. Typical spidering throughout. The folded black leather strap is rigid. It has three stress marks that have gone about 1/3 of the way through. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well. It has two runners. The injection molded zinc based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plated finish, with only wear in the expected areas. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape and are secured by two solid nickel-silver rivets. The large HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A beautiful blade!
