A Very Rare - Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Ed. Gembruch of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and upright fish “Ed. Gembruch Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The full crossgrain is stunning and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows some age grey/spotting, runner marks and surface scratches throughout. The sheet metal based black anodized scabbard looks great. It continues to remain completely dent free and holds half of its original factory lacquer. There are some oxidization spotting throughout. The nickel-silver crossguards look great. Very typical for Gembruch to not have a district mark on their guards. All four scabbard screws remain intact and the ball retains a nice round profile. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The black died hardwood grip is in great condition. It has a few hairline cracks throughout. The grip to crossguard fits are perfect. The solid nickel-silver eagle is wonderfully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 85%+ of its enamel and has also a perfect fit. This piece comes with the correct early two-piece ss hanger. A rare and excellent piece I am pleased to offer!
