A Type II - Gau-Abzeichen für Mitglieder der NSDAP seit 1925 by R. Wächter & Lange of Mittweida. The NSDAP General Honor Gau Badge 1925 was awarded by the Gauleiter of the specific districts (Bavaria, Franconia, Saxony, Halle-Merseburg, Hessen-Nassau, Lubeck, Mecklenburg, and Magdeburg-Anhalt) to individuals who held membership within the NSDAP since 1925. It is constructed out of a two-piece die struck/cast 800-silver/alpaca base that has been silver washed/burnished and contains black enamel paint work that was all covered in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse features a large black mobile swastika with a centrally placed “1925” this is in front of a round oak leaf and acorn wreath. The hollow back reverse reads: “R. Wächter & Lange Mittweida 800”. It also displays; two hollow rivets, a round wire soldered-on catch, soldered-on sheet metal hinge and replacement pin and pin-hinge. 98%+ of the black paint remains intact. It measures 1 ¾ inches wide and tall. The highest Gau level decoration of the Reichsleitung!
