A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Haastert & Bull of Solingen-Wald. A good blade, with a very cool maker mark- nice! The bright blade on this one suffers some light sharpening and has been cleaned at some point evidenced by some fine longitudinal scratches. Likely a Brillo pad or such. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and maker mark are both crisp and well executed. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! No evidence this has ever been disassembled. This blade rates Exc/Exc+. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks wonderful! It continues to hold 99% of its original factory brown finish to it! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguards nicely. The ball has a wee bump to it yet it retains a nice round shape. All four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is quite correctly marked "He" (Hessen). The brown hardwood grip looks good. There is a fine hairline to the reverse that if you turn the grip just so in the sun you can find. It has common pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful detail! The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Included is an Assmann marked well worn 3pc hanger. A great piece.
